Spa-Style Shower Remodel

Before

Outdated bath with wall partition separating the shower enclosure from the garden tub.

After

  • Carrara LFT : Covers the Floor, two shower walls (floor to ceiling) and wraps around the new freestanding tub area continuing on the far wall under the windows and up over the sills.

  • Rainfall Fixtures: New ceiling-mounted shower head, matching faucet and valve for a modern touch.

  • Glass Enclosure: Removed the old wall and set a frameless tempered-glass surround around a custom white pebblestone floor pan.

  • Pebblestone Accents: The same stone repeats around the tub spout and shower fixtures for seamless style.

Result: A cohesive, spa-quality shower that combines luxury materials with flawless execution—done “Dunn Right.”

Floating Staircase and Loft Makeover

Before

Customer wanted to extend the small loft they had over the bathroom, that had to be accessed by ladder and was only big enough for a bed

After

  • Beam & Post Wrap: Clad the main support beam and post in rich, espresso-stained wood to seamlessly blend with the home’s existing millwork.

  • Floating Stair Stringer: Fabricated a custom “floating” stringer that starts straight, curves atop a built-in maple corner cabinet, then returns forward to the loft—creating both drama and storage.

  • Maple Corner Cabinet: Built a snug, custom maple cabinet at the staircase’s mid-level turn, providing display shelving and hidden compartment space.

  • Loft Railing System: Installed black powder-coated steel posts with a stainless-steel cable infill and clear-coated hard-maple cap rail for a sleek, airy guardrail that ties back to the staircase.

  • Trim Matching: Extended espresso-stained trim around the loft opening to match the new beam wrap, ensuring a cohesive, polished look.

Result: A harmonious blend of form and function—this floating staircase not only elevates the loft visually but also adds bespoke storage and safety, all executed “Dunn Right.”

Dry Rot Siding Job

Before

Customer called because they were having water issues at the windows. Tore off the siding and luckily there wasn't any framing rot. Just Sheathing and siding.

After

  • Salvage & Prep: Carefully removed loose boards, cleaned and rehung the undamaged upper siding.

  • Sheathing Replacement: Cut out the rotted lower sheathing and installed weather-resistant plywood. Topped it with Tyvek.

  • New Siding & Trim: Installed wood siding along the entire wall, then added crisp trim and vertical battens for depth.

  • Lighting Upgrade: Mounted modern, exterior-rated fixtures to highlight the new façade.

Result: A watertight, eye-catching exterior that stands up—and looks great—for years.

Curb appeal Activated

Before

Very Dated Front porch on this cabin in the woods

After

  • Post & Beam Upgrade: Removed the old, round wood posts and beams and installed heavy-duty 10×10 cedar—naturally rot-resistant and built to last.

  • Modern Hardware: Swapped out worn fasteners for sleek, powder-coated black brackets and fittings.

  • Cable Railing System: Ran stainless-steel cables through 6x6 redwood posts, then topped it all with a redwood cap rail for a clean, contemporary look.

  • New Concrete Pad: Poured a smooth, level concrete landing to seamlessly tie the deck into the yard.
  • Under-deck Wrap & Access Gate: Encased the deck’s underside in cedar cladding and built a matching gate for easy storage access

Outbuilding gets a half bath

Before

Customer has laundry room in outbuilding, wanted to add a toilet and sink.

After

  • Partition Wall: Framed and finished a floor-to-ceiling wall to cleanly separate the laundry area from the toilet.

  • Laundry Nook: Installed a deep, utility-grade sink with sturdy under-sink shelving.

  • Toilet Enclosure: Built a private water-resistant cubicle on the far side, with space for a standard toilet and ventilation.

  • Waterproof Flooring: Applied a seamless, commercial-grade waterproof membrane and topped it with the paint of their choice.

Result: A smart, green renovation that maximizes utility while keeping moisture exactly where it belongs—outside the living space.

Deck Demolition & Drainage Upgrade

Before

Customer had completely dry rotted deck.  Low-lying decks are not the best option, because there's not much room for air flow and if they can't dry out. They rot

After

  • Full Deck Removal: Cleared out the old, unsafe decking down to the dirt.

  • Drainage Trench: Excavated a continuous trench along the walkway’s edge and installed corrugated drain pipe.

  • Erosion Control: Laid landscape fabric to block sediment, then backfilled with pea gravel for optimal water flow.

Result: A reliably dry perimeter and a solid base prepped for your next deck—done “Dunn Right.”

Railing Upgrade

Before

Wood and composite railing in beyond salvageable condition

After

  • Edge Decking Removal: Carefully pulled back the outer deck boards to expose and remove the old, weathered posts.

  • Sturdy Cedar Posts: Installed custom-sized 4×4 cedar posts with galvanized hardware for lasting support.

  • Stainless Steel Cable Runs: Ran marine-grade 1/8″ stainless cables through precision-drilled holes for a virtually invisible guardrail.

  • Galvanized Hardware: Used corrosion-resistant lag screws, tensioners, and end fittings to ensure decades of maintenance-free performance.

  • Cedar Cap Rail: Capped every post with a smooth milled cedar handrail, seamlessly blending safety with natural warmth.

Result: A bright, airy deck that maximizes sight lines and resists the elements—every detail executed “Dunn Right.”
